Duration : 13 weeks /3 months
Salary Range : $40 -$48/ hourly on W2
Shift Timing : Nights (7p-7a)
Job Description:
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 36-bed Emergency Department that serves approximately 59,000 patients annually. The ED RN is responsible for rapid assessment, prioritization, intervention, and evaluation of patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions.
· Triage patients using evidence-based triage protocols to determine acuity levels and initiate appropriate care.
· Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies.
· Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policy and provider orders.
· Operate and monitor medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices.
· Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members.
· Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education.
· Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
· Participate in rapid response, trauma activations, code blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as required.
· Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards.
· Support a culture of patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence in a high-volume ED environment.
Qualifications
Required:
· Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma (or compact license).
· Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
Preferred/Required within timeframe after hire:
· TNCC and ENPC certifications (preferred).
· Prior experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, or high-acuity settings.
Skills & Abilities
· Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication and teamwork ability.
· Competency in trauma care, cardiac care, and stabilizing critically ill patients.
· Ability to remain calm and focused during high-stress situations.
