Location : Fort Wayne IN 46845
Shift : 12 hour shifts - Nights
Duration : Permanent / Direct Hire
Sign On : Up to $10,000
Relocation : Case by Case basis

Job Description:

• The Inpatient Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, specialized nursing care to patients with cancer and related hematological disorders. This is a crucial role responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a complex patient population. The position is a direct-hire opportunity with a generous sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, radiation, or post-surgical care.
• Monitor patient progress, assess for complications (e.g., neutropenia, infection), and intervene appropriately.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy and biologics, in accordance with oncology protocols.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, palliative care, and social work teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure safe handling of cytotoxic medications and use of PPE.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, particularly for immunocompromised patients.

Required skills and minimum years of experience.:

• At least 2 years of oncology or Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Indiana RN license and Oncology cert preferred.
• Oncology cert preferred
