This position will serve as an Assistant IT Operations Analyst within the IMSS Data Center Operations group. Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, modifying, troubleshooting, and monitoring database and system related processes in a distributed computing environment, as well as monitoring data center environmental systems.
Essential Job Duties
Modify jobs in a distributed production environment using Broadcom/CA Application Manager (aka AppWorx) scheduling tools, sub-variables, and condition statements based on written instructions.
Operates and monitors basic functions of computer and peripheral equipment, such as printers, tape and disk drives; adds printers and banner statements and history records maintenance.
Perform AppWorx scheduler maintenance, including the addition of printers, history records maintenance, and the collection of job statistics based on written instructions.
Reports on nightly, weekly and monthly scheduled Oracle processes
Monitors error messages and follows written instructions to re-sequence basic level job interruptions; elevates more complex situations to supervisor or manager
Correctly report and escalate production problems caused by the AppWorx scheduling system, Oracle applications, Linux/Windows operating systems, local/wide area networks, AWS, or end-user workstations to Senior Operator or manager
Print, quality check, securely handle and deliver payroll checks
Maintain inventory and alert manager to initiate purchase requisitions for miscellaneous computer room equipment and supplies
Monitor and report data center environmental conditions and execute appropriate escalation procedures in the event of any system issues
Participate in an on-call rotation
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
1+ years of experience with administrative applications.
Must be proficient in the use of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office applications.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and accurate operations procedures and status reports.
Must be willing to work different shifts (day, swing, grave).
Experience with scheduling applications. AppWorx/UC4 scheduler preferred.
Ability to update and modify a distributed environment production schedule so that it consistently meets required demand.
High school diploma or GED.
Familiar with Linux shell commands preferred.
Familiarity with SQL and/or Oracle databases
Basic understanding of local area networks
