In your role as Technical Support Engineer, Industrial Data Centers, you will be part of an amazing infrastructure support and maintenance team, providing IT managed services for our IDC customers. This consists of phone support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our manufacturing customer environments.
This role reports to the Supervisor, Remote Support and is located in Mayfield Village, OH.
What you will do
- Focus heavily on remote managed services for data centers located in manufacturing facilities. Possess technical expertise for compute environments and will be instrumental in bridging the industrial and information technology paradigms.
- Support modifying and maintaining Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory and Directory Services, and performance monitoring techniques on server software and hardware.
- Support a wide range of VMware products such as vCenter, ESXi versions 6.x+, HorizonView, vSAN and must have experience managing these environments in a production environment.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance remotely via telephone and email on products to Rockwell Automation field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers. Work with other engineers, manage multiple issues with changing priorities and deal with high pressure situations successfully.
- Investigate and verify reported product problems in software, firmware, hardware and documentation. Document the problem, work with appropriate group to resolve the problem, and follow up with the Rockwell Automation representative or customer when the problem is solved.
Skills you have
- At least 2 years' experience as a VMware engineer
- Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN/vSAN architectures
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware solutions and related technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, computer programming, or similar
- VCP Certification
