About the Position: The Division of Information Technology strives to be a strategic, innovative and best-in-class IT organization that provides a leading-edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Data Center team as the Information Technology Consultant- Foundation. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
The Information Technology Consultant- Foundation assist with the maintenance, planning/deployment, monitoring, reporting, and system backup of the Data Center. Under the general supervision of the Data Center Lead, provides for reliable operation of the campus computing systems and computing infrastructure including the campus portal, web servers, telecommunications systems, computer network switching infrastructure, fiber and copper networks, etc. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field or four years of relevant full-time experience or an associates degree in a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience.
Basic knowledge of the specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principles and terminology. Demonstrated understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating the technology. Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and refer to the appropriate party for resolution. Ability to solve problems where precedents exist, and acquire knowledge in related specialties. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
