MSK is transforming and modernizing its data centers to Software Defined Network environment. We are looking for a candidate with proven foundational knowledge and experience of networking concepts and technologies.
The candidate will be encouraged to explore the newest technologies available to meet the Hospitals future needs. The role has a particular focus on modern campus network virtualization, convergence, and security.
The candidate should have experience in high-end network equipment (i.e. Cisco, Arista), LAN/WAN protocols, network applications such as DNS, DHCP, and in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols including OSPF, EIGRP and BGP, network security policy and configuration.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
In-depth and hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista switch platforms, ideally in a campus environment.
Replacing faulty network hardware components when required
Strong practical experience and understanding of the different types of cables, such as CAT6A/CAT6/CAT5, MPO optical fibers, etc.
Undertakes the installation of data equipment, including data racks, patch panels, cable trays, network devices and components
Have experience interpreting error and log messages to identify fault devices and component
Communicate with campus users to quickly identify network-related issues
Strong working experience in implementing large scale network with hierarchical (three-layer) internetworking model: access, distribution, and core layers.
Strong practical experience with layer 2 network security technologies, such as port-security, DHCP snooping, 802.1X, NAC, ARP inspection,
Solid foundation in Layer 2 switching and forwarding.
Solid grasp of Layer 3 routing protocols, such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
Demonstrable understanding of network application, such as DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, Multicast, SNMP, Netflow and etc.
Strong in solving different OSI layer issues and performance analysis by using sniffer tools
Have experience in Linux/Unix and MS Windows servers, Active Directory and LDAP, VMWare, and open-source applications
Skills that would be nice to have include:
Basic understanding of layer 2 extension protocols such as OTV and VXLAN
Basic understanding of data center-centric network architecture, such as spine and leaf topology
Understanding of virtual hypervisors, server hardware technologies, SAN and NAS
Experience in Cloud services (AWS and Azure), modern datacenter architecture, and Software Defined Network (SDN)
