Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, the Director of Business Development is charged with expanding BCS’s business through the growth of new service contracts.
The ideal candidate has a strong background and demonstrated experience in sales and business development in the data center, critical infrastructure, and/or facility management professional services settings, particularly working with senior-level decision-makers. He/she will have a unique ability to build relationships and develop networks, along with highly developed account management skills. He/she should be curious about how individuals and teams perform at their highest levels, and eager to offer solutions to help individuals and teams work more efficiently and effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leverages an existing network of relationships within the data center and critical infrastructure industry to drive new business opportunities.
Seeks out and sources new clients through leveraging and/or developing a professional network of relationships.
Manages entire lifecycle from source to post-sale relationship management for clients.
Collaborates with other Business Development team members, Solutions Engineer, and the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer to identify account pursuit strategies and marketing needs.
Collaborates with Sales Engineering and Operations Team to conduct sales presentations and coordinate RFP responses.
Works towards sales and revenue goals as established in partnership with the Director of Business Development.
Travels and participates in client meetings, tradeshows, and related industry events.
Existing relationships with senior decision-makers at enterprise, colocation, and real estate investment companies who own data centers or data center portfolios.
Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people of all types and backgrounds.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficiently and confidently uses technology as an integral part of the sales process.
Advanced persuasion skills and the ability to influence others.
Thorough knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including the MS Word suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), for word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
Thorough knowledge of the communication structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, grammar, reading/oral comprehension, and active listening for excellent and effective communication skills both verbally and written.
Excellent active listening, oral comprehension, and reading comprehension skills.
Excellent time management skills, proficiency with coordinating multiple projects and activities, with great attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently and consistently with or without supervision.

This position has no current supervisory responsibilities. The position may supervise additional business development team members with the maturation of their geographic region and portfolio of business.
Work is performed in a mostly climate-controlled, enclosed office setting, with limited exposure to external elements. May be exposed to heat and air units, dust, and other elements common to an office setting.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, day position. Typical hours are 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
Some travel is required.
Required EXPERIENCE AND Education
Minimum of 3 years of business development experience working for/with data center and critical infrastructure service providers and a total of over 7 years of direct sales experience
Strong preference for experience with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), data center design and build firms, data center operators, or multi-national real estate companies
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or comparable experience
Experience selling outsourced solutions with high-value service contracts
Experience using Salesforce.

Must be willing to submit to a full criminal background check, results of which may or may not bar employment, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Must be willing to submit to a drug screen, which results will be interpreted and applied to an employment eligibility determination in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
None required but must be eligible to obtain necessary clearance to travel and work outside of US borders.
