Responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining the College’s wired and wireless network and infrastructure operations including local and wide area network equipment and technologies. Performs the full range of installation, monitoring, maintenance and modification of routers, switches, firewalls, data communication software and other systems utilities. Ensure stability and integrity of data, communication/voice, and video network services.
Installs, configures and troubleshoots network systems and infrastructure applications.
Maintain and manage Data Center infrastructure that includes routers, core switches, ASA firewalls, Palo Alto NGF, and WAN connectivity.
Ensure 24×7 network connectivity at the Data Center and throughout the College.
Administer and manage access control lists, IP addresses, and the bandwidth distribution.
Manages enterprise wireless infrastructure system including controllers and access points; installs and maintains wireless configuration profiles; configures integrations with BYOD system for location based wireless networks.
Work with vendors on installation of network drops, network connectivity, and other network equipment installation throughout the College.
Manages local and wide area network infrastructure; ensures appropriate on-campus and inter-campus connectivity; configures, monitors and troubleshoots specialized network equipment; designs, procures and monitors internet, datacenter, and remote campus transport and connectivity.
Stays current on security and technology trends and innovations.
Train staff in work procedures and provide technical assistance in difficult and unusual technical situations as required; recommends selection of staff; counsels employees and recommends initial disciplinary action and other related decisions; establishes priorities, work schedules and project plans; tracks project status and reviews work in progress to ensure conformance to plans and systems standards.
Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships related to network & infrastructure areas.
Ensure that business operations at the College are PCI-DSS compliant.
Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field; AND five (5) years of professional network and infrastructure management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
