Description The Office of Information Technology Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an IT Analyst. This position provides the highest level of technical expertise for all IT infrastructure that is used to support the IT needs of UT Martin main campus and remote centers. The primary focus spans the entire computing environment for UT Martin. This position will be involved in most IT projects as a high-level administrator and will provide technical leadership for projects. This position will be responsible for understanding the "big picture" of IT at UT Martin and will be able to provide guidance in troubleshooting in any situation. This position is heavily involved in future strategic planning for new technology for student instruction, university administration, communications, and networking focused toward the mission of the university.
IT infrastructure refers to all of the servers and server support systems, backup systems, wired and wireless network, network security appliances, Microsoft systems on premise and in the cloud and any other cloud service that may be used to support the mission of UT Martin
Job Duties: * Serves as project lead on most IT infrastructure projects * Provides a demonstrated mastery and in-depth understanding of existing and emerging IT infrastructure environment. * Manages, administers, and maintains IT infrastructure, management software, and resources in a complex IT environment; Procure, coordinate the design, documentation, configuration, troubleshooting, operation, and modification of IT infrastructure hardware and software. * Oversees the change management system for all IT infrastructure. Studies all proposed changes and reports possible problems and benefits of making the proposed change. Back-out plans are proposed where possible, changes are scheduled and the campus is notified of the schedule * Performs complex analysis and extensive problem resolution for IT infrastructure. * Identifies strategic areas of development in IT infrastructure * Pro-actively implements industry best practices * Provides guidance to colleagues and users * Plans and coordinates disaster recovery * Plans and coordinates projects * May serve as project lead on any size project * Provides in-depth industry knowledge * Performs other related duties as required
