The role of the Director, Technology Infrastructure & Security is to serve as a leader in the IT organization, accountable for the University's network, security and data center services. Of equal importance this position is accountable for managing and leading resources, responsible for system access provisioning, disaster recovery planning and governance, along with monitoring of system and data security compliance and threat response remediation in partnership with internal IT team, community members and external partners. As a residential University catering to student's needs therefore it is critically important that the incumbent understands the importance of having a high performing, robust and reliable technology infrastructure that is operational 24*7*365.
As a key member of the IT leadership team this role brings current knowledge and future vision to support the evolution of our core technology operations and leading the improved adoption of new practices and capabilities to mature our overall cybersecurity posture. The role holder is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure & service partners and will align and partner with key stakeholders across the academia. Through these relationships and ongoing engagement, the incumbent will advocate for new or existing capabilities that can address or improve user experience or operational efficiencies.
This position requires a strategic leader with demonstrated experience in Information Security management, technology infrastructure planning and services in the context of higher education, IT project governance and planning, vendor relationship management, change management, budget management, and organizational strategic planning.

Required Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required and Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Seven years of IT experience with an emphasis on Information Security and IT infrastructure
Five years of leadership experience providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring to information technology professionals.
3+ years of experience with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks (such as National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] 800)
Solid understanding of current and emerging infrastructure & operations technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them
Solid understanding of current and emerging Disaster recovery, security and threat vulnerability management practices.
Ability to influence and break down silos within IT and across the University
Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner
Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications
Must have experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and have the ability to formulate new programs to generate excitement and engagement
Experience with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases
