Lead Systems Support Engineer will be responsible for providing senior level administration & engineering support within the Windows, Linux & Virtualization Systems Infrastructure for Production, Development, UAT, Test, QA environments hosted in both our Atlanta and Drohan Data Centers.
This senior level position will assist in the Support and Management of complex systems infrastructure supporting servers and Storage in two sites. Lead Systems Support Engineer will provide support oversight during the entire lifecycle of the systems with their purview. Should have a well-established and proven experience required to implement and Support all aspects of Windows, Linux, VMware Virtualization platforms including but not limited to DNS, and GPO's. Must be knowledgeable and be able to implement and provide guidance to subordinate systems administrators & engineers within the space of Systems Patch management processes required to maintain systems in a secure manner. Must have understanding of Virus Protection Software fundamentals.
Must have a High-level understanding of Windows, Linux, Storage and Virtualization Server Operating Systems.
Sets roadmaps and develops plans for existing and new support technologies
Automating patch management process will be included in the purview of responsibility with this position
Evaluates and tests hardware, OS, applications and makes recommendations on new/upgrades to hardware, OS, and applications
Continually seek ways to automate redundant functions to improve quality and efficiencies of tasks
Acts as lead for support initiatives on large projects for BU's to provide integrated team support and maintenance of hardware and software as needed in a team environment
Documents standards, architecture, implementation procedures, and troubleshooting support activities
Provides technical expertise to management in the development of systems solutions
Manages customer expectations. Keeps the customer aware of the project status and critical issues and risks. Obtains customer sign off at appropriate checkpoints
Acts as contact point for vendors during installation, rearrangement and/or removal of equipment
Keeps management well informed on a timely basis of progress, status, and concerns for each assignment
Effectively communicates ideas and information to peers, management, and customers
Responsible for training, mentoring, directing, and validating the work of less experienced/knowledgeable team members
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.

High Level Experience with Linux, Windows, VMware, and Storage Technologies. (Windows 2012/2016/2019, Linux Version 7, 8, 9, VMware Version 6 & 7.5)
High Level Experience in Storage Solutions including Fiber Channel (Dell Compellent/Dell PowerStore/NetApp) and SAN, NAS and iSCSI Storage management
High Level Experience with VMware/Virtualization Technologies
6-10 years' experience with Cloud technologies (Azure & GCP)
6-10 years' experience in a 2/3 tier client server application environment (Web/App/DB)
Windows DB Clustering / Linux HA Clustering
Advanced experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
Advanced experience with IT security concepts, vulnerability assessment, mitigation, and remediation
Advanced experience with Domain Name management technologies (DNS)
Advanced experience with multiple scripting technologies with a focus towards automation (ie: RunDeck, PowerShell, Ansible, CI/CD)
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Experience in working in a Real-Transaction Processing environment
Experience in the Backup and Recovery environment utilizing NetBackup and Veeam
Experience with Container technologies (VMware Integrated Open stack).
Advanced experience with Identity Management
Experience with Citrix
Certifications in the Windows, Virtualization, Linux, and Storage areas a desirable.
Degree or equivalent
