Work You'll Do
DRIVE ADVISORY AND IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES OF LARGE-SCALE BIG DATA ECOSYSTEMS INCLUDING DATA MANAGEMENT, GOVERNANCE AND THE INTEGRATION OF STRUCTURED AND UNSTRUCTURED DATA TO GENERATE INSIGHTS LEVERAGING CLOUD-BASED PLATFORMS TO HELP COMPANIES UNLOCK THE VALUE OF BIG DATA TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENTS FOR CLIENTS IN THE INSURANCE, FINANCIAL SERVICES, HEALTHCARE, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, TELECOMM, AND RETAIL INDUSTRIES. MODERNIZE BUSINESS AND CORE ENVIRONMENTS TO LEVERAGE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS ACROSS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS, AND DRIVE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY BY MAINTAINING THEIR DATA ECOSYSTEMS, SOURCING ANALYTICS EXPERTISE FOR CONTINUOUS INSIGHTS AND IMPROVEMENTS. INSTALL, MANAGE AND MAINTAIN BIG DATA CLUSTER ON ON-PREMISE AND PUBLIC CLOUD. PREPARE DOCUMENTS INCLUDING RELEASE MANAGEMENT, STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP), AND UPGRADE PLANS FOR BIG DATA CLUSTERS. PARTICIPATE IN SETTING ENGAGEMENT OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE, DEVELOP WORK PLANS FOR COMPONENTS OF ENGAGEMENTS, COORDINATE ACTIVITIES BETWEEN WORKSTREAMS, AND IDENTIFY CHANGES IN SCOPE. LEAD VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE FULL DATA DELIVERY LIFECYCLE FOR IMPLEMENTATIONS, INCLUDING REQUIREMENTS GATHERING, BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYSIS, SCRIPTING, CODE DEPLOYMENTS, ENHANCEMENT VALIDATION, TRIAGE OF DEFECTS AND CHANGE REQUESTS, AND ESCALATIONS. DEVELOP THOUGHTWARE AND POINT-OF-VIEW DOCUMENTS RELATED TO TRENDING TOPICS (SUCH AS CLOUD, MACHINE LEARNING, AND THE INTERNET OF THINGS) AND ADOPT EMERGING TECHNOLOGICAL TRENDS (SUCH AS PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS, COGNITIVE ANALYTICS, OR MACHINE LEARNING) TO DEVELOP CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO PRESSING ISSUES.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BACHELOR'S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING (ANY), OR A RELATED FIELD AND TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE JOB OFFERED OR IN A RELATED OCCUPATION. MUST ALSO HAVE TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE INVOLVING EACH OF THE FOLLOWING:
INSTALLING, CONFIGURING AND MAINTAINING HADOOP DISTRIBUTED FILE SYSTEM (HDFS ON ON-PREMISE DATA CENTERS AND CLOUD PLATFORMS INCLUDING AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS), AZURE AND GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM (GCP); PROVIDING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BIG DATA TECHNOLOGY INCLUDING ARCHITECTURAL, HARDWARE, SECURITY AND END USER MANAGEMENT POINT-OF-VIEW; TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES RELATED TO HADOOP SECURITY, HADOOP DISTRIBUTED FILE SYSTEM (HDFS), HADOOP YARN (YET ANOTHER RESOURCE NEGOTIATOR), APACHE HIVE, APACHE SPARK, AND BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES TO PREPARE AND EXECUTE UPGRADE PLANS FOR HADOOP CLUSTERS;
GATHERING REQUIREMENTS AND FUNCTIONALITIES FOR USE CASE TO PROVIDE A VIABLE SOLUTION FROM TECHNICAL POINT-OF-VIEW; PREPARING SYSTEM RELEASE AND CONFIGURATION DOCUMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS AND CONDUCTING PROOF OF CONCEPTS (POC) ON UPCOMING NEW BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES; IDENTIFYING BUGS AND EXECUTING STACK TRACE TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS; AND CONVERTING MANUAL PROCESSES TO AUTOMATED JOBS AND UNIX SCRIPTS INCLUDING AUTHENTICATION, STORAGE BACKUPS, LOG FILE DELETIONS, ARCHIVES, AND PROCESS MONITORING.
