What you’ll be doing...
The VNOE team is taking on a growing responsibility in the key revenue generating segment of Onsite Private Networks. These networks take the best in class private 4G and 5G core networks and combine them with Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) providing enterprise customers with next generation networks. This is a unique opportunity to drive aspects of design and engineering of Onsite Networks and their integration with Private Mobile Edge Compute. You will represent Virtual Network Operations and Engineering (VNOE) team while working with external vendors and internal teams such as Product, TP&D, Planning, MTCE and NI with a strong, customer centric voice in defining and well as implementing the strategic roadmap of Onsite Private Networks.
Leading the VNOE organization in building next-generation Private Networks, entailing the RAN/Private Network Core and services such as components of Private MEC
Responsible for contributing to the design and building next gen private networks that will support innovative and disruptive enterprise applications.
Be the architect of end to end automation and orchestration of Networks applications (RAN, EPC, etc) along with the underlying web scale compute architecture using existing frameworks such as NFVD, Atlas, and Wind River cloud platform with end goals of zero touch provisioning, high scalability, and closed loop in mind.
Gathering testing and validation requirements and conducting FOA and trials in lab or internal FOA site locations.
Provide insight into VNOE requirements while partnering with internal teams and external vendors to develop 3+ years technology strategy, roadmap, and planning on private networks.
Develop excellent working relationships with and work as a partner with HQ Planning, Product, TP&D, Network Implementation, and MTCE with the purpose developing best practices for the engineering and operations.
Provide insight into VNOE requirements to teams who are negotiating and managing emerging private network technology partners statements of work, technical development and relationships.
Partner with Planning to shape the future automation and orchestration framework that fits the needs of business requirements for Onsite Private Networks.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience
Sixor more years of relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel.
In-depth demonstrable experience with4G/5G Core and RAN technologies.
In-depth demonstrable knowledge of cloud architecture and open source tools.
Demonstrated experience building Container based solutions (distributed and standalone) using Kubernetes, and/or Docker Data Center/swarm.
Even better if you have:
Three or more years of distributed software design & development experience.
Experience in OS virtualization and containerization isolation technologies.
Experience in deploying VNF’s utilizing internal orchestration frameworks such as ATLAS/NFVD
Experience with designing, engineering, or operating service provider networks.
Strong Scripting Skills (Python).
Strong Knowledge of IP Networking including Virtual Private Cloud, VPN, SDN, DNS, Load-balancing, and Firewalls.
A proven track record of delivering large systems to a predefined schedule.
Previous record of distilling highly complex technical solutions into business cases for leadership
Managed high expectations from multiple directions with the proven ability to focus team members on objectives.
