Position Number: 003313 Department: Office of OneIT (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Network & Voice Services Manager is responsible for the implementation and operation of technology infrastructure deployed within the university. This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security for all IT networking infrastructure and for the day-to-day management of the Network & Voice Services Team. - Supervise the Network & Voice Services team - Develop and build career plan for team members - Manage Network & Voice Services projects from project planning to implementation and operation Minimum Experience / Education: - Bachelor's degree (prefer Computer Science/Information Systems) - 3-5 years of hands on technical experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc - 2-3 years successful leadership of a networking team with the ability to manage complex information systems and technical personnel - Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands on experience in design, implementation and support of layered network models at the Access, Distribution/Aggregation, Core locations - Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and support of layer 3 protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc - Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in networking-related protocols and tools, such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, IPAM, TACACS, etc - Competence in advanced networking technologies, virtualization technologies, and solutions including MPLS, virtual routing and forwarding, virtual device contexts, multicast routing, policy-based routing, QoS, traffic-shaping, load balancing, VPN tunnels, etc - Experience with multiple network vendor solutions including Palo Alto, Citrix, Aruba & Infoblox - Experience with Cisco solutions including LAN, WAN, data center, security and voice - Experience in network engineering strategy, architecture, design, and implementation as applied to complex computing systems including routing and switching technologies, firewalls, load balancers, etc Preferred Education Skills and Experience: - Demonstrated success with complete life cycle inventory management including inventory tracking through procurement, storage, deployment, operations, decommissioning, and disposal - Demonstrated knowledge of cable plant standards and operations to include planning, installation, maintenance, and management - Experience with cloud technologies - Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives - Excellent follow through and attention to detail |
