JOB SUMMARY
CBRE is looking for an Industrial Control Systems & SCADA Design Project Manager to work on Hyperscale Data Center construction projects for a large technology client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as client's agent, consultant, advisor, and authorized owner's representative through all design phases until hand-off to client's site installation team. The work is for large hyperscale data center construction projects for a confidential top-three technology client. Most of the duties and responsibilities are associated with managing, coordinating, and administrating the client's Industrial Control Systems & SCADA design consultants used in the design efforts. Ideal candidates should have significant mission-critical (data centers, cleanrooms, hospitals, call centers) project management experience in daily management of Industrial Control Systems & SCADA design consultanting engineers. Ideal client is comfortable facilitating large design coordination meetings with multiple design disciplines, including "page turns" design meetings. etc. Must have a history of exception design discipline coordination for large mission critical buildings and campuses.
Job Description & Responsibilities :
- Work with client's stakeholder groups and third party consultants, design consultants, construction management firms, and construction contractors to administer the design and/or construction contracts on behalf of the client.
- Coordinate, clarify, and track design packages with client and client's third-party contractors.
- Manage and coordinate design efforts for bundle domestic and international projects.
- Manage escalation of design issues to resolution.
- Support contract negotiation with client's third party contractors, typically in concert with client's project manager ("PM") and legal counsel.Coordinate and produce the following Deliverables for each data center design/construction project:
- Design project plan for each data center design/construction project prior to design kickoff. Contractor will ensure the project plan includes the following:
- Internal kickoff deck
- Baseline scope
- Baseline design schedule
- Baseline budget
- Risk log
- Team roster
- Project folders
- Meeting and communication plan
- A change management plan
- Lessons learned from previous building designs
- Owner design changes to canonical design engineering bulletins ("EBs")
Manage and update the following through design completion:
- Design schedule
- Design budget
- Design risk log
Ensure the following design trackers and updates are delivered at each design deliverable milestone. Contractor will deliver final versions of these documents upon design completion:
- Complete and maintain design review checklist
- and maintain design comments tracker
- Complete and maintain design decision tracker
- Conduct constructability review ("CR") and value engineering report at each CR milestone
- Provide updates to the site change control log with design information
- Provide updates to the site risk log with design information
- Complete the following reports and ensure delivery of documents
During data center design:
- Monthly design report
- Publish weekly design meeting minutes
- Provide and gather cost estimates working with stakeholders and client's third party contractors for scope gaps and changes.
- Coordinate value engineering efforts.
- Coordinate constructability reviews of the project documents.
- Ensure design QA/QC is being performed, and report issues and gaps to the client.
- Oversee invoice/payment application processing, tracking, and reporting.
- Negotiate, resolve, and close any outstanding change orders, quality issues, or disputes.
- Assist client in scheduling, coordination, and management of client's third-party contractors and consultants for data center projects
- Support program travel to team meetings and general management support.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides no formal supervision . Assists in managing 3rd party project delivery resources.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University in a technical area of study. Minimum six years of related experience and/or training.
Prior experience in a supervisory position (direct report responsibilities) required if specific duties include direct report responsibilities.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred.

Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
