CBRE has an immediate need for a Technical Architect to support large data center projects. This position is located in New York City. The Technical Architect will provide design and design review services on large data center projects.
Preparation and guidance of detailed drawings, design development and construction documentation phases of assigned projects.
Interprets verbal and written directions from project leaders into professionally completed documents or products
Site visits to evaluate potential opportunities and analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
Demonstrates leadership in establishing and applying technical guidelines
Establish budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan with Project Manager
Completes working drawings, specifications, shop drawings, diagrams, schedules and other computer generated or drafted documents from prepared drawings as required by the project
Oversee Architecture Partners through Construction Documents, Construction Administration and Punchlist.
Implements processes to reduce risks and exposure in all areas of the project
Assures construction documentation emphasizes on efficiency, quality assurance and code compliance
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project team. Leads project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees. May have responsibility for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating a work unit and/or group.
Bachelor's Degree (B.Arch) or Master's Degree (M.Arch) from four-year college or university.
Minimum 6+ years' experience required.
Architecture registration is preferred.
Experience with data center/ institutional/complex building types
Experienced with Revit, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Sketch-UP and Adobe Suite.
Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail
Ability to present and articulate ideas and analyses
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity and complex challenges
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and distributed teams
