The Cisco Network Administrator’s role is to design, build, implement, and support network systems across the enterprise. This includes the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of all wide area network connections, data center networks, local area networks, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues and analyze network traffic across the enterprise.
Knowledge & Experience
Working knowledge of Cisco network platforms and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls and content filters.
Working knowledge of WAN Optimization/Acceleration technologies and platforms (Riverbed), preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot, setup and configure complex wired and wireless network environments (Cisco) that supports various secured configurations.
Knowledge and previous experience with VoIP infrastructure is a plus.
Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, VoIP, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, T/DS/OC, 802.11x, and so on.
Expertise in technologies used to enable remote employees including, but not limited to telephony, PCs, wireless networking, WiFi, and Smartphone
Hands-on knowledge of the configuration of load-balancing of applications
Ability to operate tools and utilities used in troubleshooting issues, in a hands-on manner.
Working technical knowledge of current Internet and network protocols.
Ability to operate network component analyzers, scanners, and testers.
Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
Knowledge/understanding of network management and analysis platforms.
