CBRE is looking for a Senior CAD Operator- Data Center Capacity Planner to assist in Capacity Planning and Constraints Management (" CAPCOM ") computer aided design (" CAD ") drawings and building, modeling information (" BIM "), and documentation services for a large technology client in Sunnyvale, CA.
The Senior CAD Operator- Data Center Capacity Planner will generate drawings per client's design standards for data centers while also providing complex research, data mining/analysis, reporting and interpretation of space planning metrics in an effort to provide recommendations and proposed solutions to meet client's data center capacity needs.
Interact with client's stakeholder groups, related consultants and the construction contractor(s) to perform document control, corrections and document audit services;
Assist with updating detail AutoCAD drawings; and
Contribute to CAD process improvement discussions on standards and procedures.
Responsibilities include the following:
Provide testing support for custom CAD applications;
Provide an additional level of interaction and information sharing between internal client teams: CAPCOM team and the CAD/BIM team;
Oversee as-builts and ensure repository contains up to date drawing sets;
Perform minor updates to as-builts upon receipt from contractor;
Support for tools development;
Set up coordination layouts;
Coordinate Architect and Engineer ("A/E") fit-out drawing package before CAPCOM team's review and approval;
Create new CAD blocks as required;
Review consultant delivered drawings for in-flight changes driven by CAPCOM team;
Ensure consultant delivered drawings and models have produced to client's standards and reconcile if required;
Support batch processing of CAD/BIM files, including but not limited to opening, editing, printing, and e-transmitting; and
Attend team meetings.
Typical Deliverables :
Provide drawings per client's design standards for data centers, as directed by client's CAPCOM Team;
Provide drawings for as-builts for facilities, floor and ceiling plans, single line diagrams, and details as directed by engineers;
Provide checked and corrected CAD project closeouts to comply with client's CAD Documentation standards;
Prepare and circulate status reports outlining the work that has been performed;
Generate CAD files from audit redlines; and
If requested by the client, the ideal candidate shall provide reporting/metrics as defined by client's templates.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Minimum five years experience directly related to the delivery of CAD services; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering and Technology degree emphasis is preferred, but not required.
IMPORTANT: AutoCAD drawing expertise is absolutely required, especially working with most engineering disciplines, with a emphasis on mechanical and electrical engineering drawings. (Strongly preferred)
BIM (Building Informational Modeling) experience using Revit is very strongly desired.
CAFM software experience is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing and CAD/CAFM software including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and file management in Google Drive.
Familiar with system furniture design and modular furniture while demonstrating knowledge and adherence to building regulations and health & safety guidelines.
