Market Job Description
Primary Technology Infrastructure Support
Is responsible for managing a large, high level technical area or a large-scale new development with direct impact to organization-wide objectives.
Is accountable for managing production support, infrastructure development, maintenance and DR/Business recovery activities of complex applications, tools and multiple vendor products in multiple support frameworks (12X7, 12X5 etc) for a larger infrastructure related application portfolio
Wherever needed, acts as a Subject Matter Expert and apply technical knowledge and industry experience in recommending newer technology practices, system design, infrastructure architecture & management and operational knowledge to inspire and lead your team to develop high quality, large scale and secure products
Is responsible to engage with the Technology Managers, Application Architects and other CoE Partners (included but not limited to DBA, Cloud, ITOps, DevOps, Architecture and Application Development teams) for the safety and soundness of the assigned applications work on delivering Proof of Concepts, drives ideas for Continuous Process Improvements for the entire work group. Effectively guide your team in a variety of challenges like data center design & Operations, networks, storage, Virtualization, unified communications, databases to implementing cloud-based solutions to providing seamless, on-demand scaling of applications
Accountable for specific functions in areas where the alignment includes a clear delivery accountability:
Hands on involvement in technical/ domain support
Project delivery/management for infrastructure components
Operations & preventive maintenance of infrastructure environment including Continual service improvement
Will assist senior Technology Managers in building the Product/ Application Strategy (Road Map etc) and work towards enhancing the value to the larger organization (including increasing the application and infrastructure footprint at WF EGS, enhancing stability of the infrastructure components specially for critical/tier1 applications.
Accountable for the overall engagement of the work group and manage attrition
Works closely with product managers, LOB stake holders in understanding the business roadmap and help develop compelling capabilities that helps them succeed in their business goals along with other Technology Managers. May interact directly with the business users/owners, wherever needed
Is responsible for driving best practices for software development and documentation, assures designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work managing the schedules.
Operational and Process Management
Is responsible to manage team performance to budget and in line with overall departmental objectives
Is responsible to establish and manage service performance measures tied to business and technology outcomes
Is responsible to develop, drive and create visibility of technology delivery (Development, Support etc) through reporting of relevant metrics (operational and functional) for the LoB leadership and WFT partners
Ensure proactive risk management. Is responsible to continually identify and drive opportunities for process improvement
Talent / People Management
Is responsible to manage and meet the short & long term talent needs for the group including flexible and full time resource base for provision of the delivery (i.e. works with senior management on the Talent Strategy for the aligned application portfolio and other application portfolio's within the LOB)
Is responsible for developing people and manage Talent effectively consisting of technical managers, team members, analysts, developers, project managers etc across multiple locations
Market Skills and Certifications
Ability to manage a 100+ technologist with various skills in Infrastructure space across multiple sites working for multiple LoB's of an organization (preferably a financial services environment)
Must have 18+ years of experience, of which at least 5 years in senior management roles leading large teams, with demonstrable success in creating and driving effective technology teams in multinational business environments.
Must have good understanding of global trends and practices in Technology.
Must be able to demonstrate true results in impacting business outcomes and must be an innovative leader.
A seasoned, relationship-driven executive who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.
Must have created and presented business cases to senior management, involving both Strategic and Operational initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, Customer / Stakeholder Engagement, People Leadership and Quality.
Should have managed a business unit / large account independently, looking after budgets, revenues, expenses, staffing, people development, etc.
Proven record in a successful offshore delivery environment, across multiple sites.
Experienced in process improvement and quality frameworks.
Good knowledge of the IT industry internationally.
Proven capability to identify, recruit, develop and retain talent
