Albright College, a liberal arts college in Reading, PA, is seeking a Network and System Administrator. This position reports to the leader of the DSI Infrastructure Team and is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of information systems, communication systems and the implementation of the Information Security Program and services.
Essential Job Functions: 1. Manage Albright’s on campus Data Center and distributed data closets. 2. Manage technical implementation, communication and hosted services with external services providers and partners (i.e. hosted servers, ISP, telecommunications). 3. Stays current on Information Systems delivery platforms and makes recommendations to evolve and enhance Albright’s technology environment. 4. Install and maintain common Windows server applications and services. 5. Install and maintain common Linux open-source server and services. 6. Identify and analyze service-impacting issues; apply timely and effective solutions. 7. Plan project tasks, estimate durations, and adapt schedules to maintain timeline commitments. 8. Develop and maintain shared documentation within the team 9. Assist in the development and implementation of information security policies, standards, and procedures. 10. Assists in applying appropriate practices in securing enterprise data and information systems. 11. Proactively assesses monitors and reports on security levels of information system technologies. 12. Works with external law enforcement, Human Resources and campus departments as necessary. 13. Keeps current on identity management practices and principles and works within DSI and with the Albright community implementation of identity management policies and systems. 14. Assists the DSI leadership in the development of information security strategy, architecture and policies. 15. Provides technical expertise and assistance concerning information security incidents. 16. Advocate for the progressive and appropriate use of technology to meet the goals and strategies of the institution. 17. Engage in other departmental work activities including those outside of the area of primary responsibility. 18. Works within agreed upon departmental standards. 19. Read, understand and follow all DSI related policies and procedures. 20. Maintains and respects confidential information as defined by the college. 21. Share in overall on-call responsibilities as needed. 22. Work evenings and weekends as required by planned and unplanned system maintenance. 23. Perform other related duties as required.

Some College events are held outdoors, which are subject to various weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow).
