Oversee daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. Plans, monitors, and administers software and application services contracts, and records software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. Assists in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization and develops and implements procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. Defines and facilitates communication between the company and its providers in order to deliver software and applications according to plan and within budget, and to ensure licensing compliance.
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Software Management Professional and/or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional through IBSMA, SIIA, IAITAM, or BSA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Excellent contract management skills are essential.
Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services and build strong relationships.
Solid working knowledge of software licensing agreements for the following vendors: Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, and others.
Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems.
Working knowledge of current IT technologies, across a wide variety of areas, including Data center, client compute, ERP software.
Strong knowledge of contract regulations and laws plus SOX, NERC, PCI.
General knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics.
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written with ability to explain complex issues in clear, concise, persuasive language.
Strong customer service orientation; Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic.
Ability to conduct successful negotiations and enhance and maintain effective business relationships.
Working knowledge of requirements analysis techniques.
Highly motivated and self-directed; able to effectively prioritize and execute while under pressure.
Highly adaptable and flexible; able to adjust quickly to new situations and changing priorities.
Working knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and comply with company policies and procedures.
Eight (8) years of progressive experience in IT Asset Management.
Experience with Cloud platform (SAAS, IAAS) licensing
Experience managing software licenses within an asset management repository
Experience assisting with IT budgeting in terms of forecasts
Experience throughout the full IT asset lifecycle, with corresponding actions at each phase.
Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver’s license.)
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position.
DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience interacting with user community and/or IT stakeholders, desired.
Project management experience including use of related software tools, preferred.
Certifications for IT Asset and Service Management preferred.
