The position is responsible for Architecture of all the Enterprise Infrastructure systems encompassing on premise data centers, public cloud, hybrid, cloud at customer/private cloud, and integrations of the above systems servicing all Minnesota State institutions.
This position is responsible for full Architectural life cycle of technology roadmaps and solutions architecture for numerous present and future systems and technologies based on "Security First" approach. This position will lead selection of products, tools, technologies and services for Enterprise Infrastructure and actively participate in selection of non-Infrastructure tools and technologies. In addition, this position enables improvements to current Infrastructure by initiating projects as appropriate or introducing operational initiatives. This position leads cloud transformation for System office (SO) Enterprise Infrastructure and for Minnesota State institutions while ensuring that current on premise and cloud based systems are continue to function as expected. The position serves as the subject matter expert (SME) in Azure architecture, tools, technologies and best practices.
This position develops or refines processes, procedures, standards, operating instructions and documentation.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect collaborates closely with SO Infrastructure SMEs, SO IT Architects, vendors and works with SO Information Technology Services SMEs, Minnesota State institutions SMEs on architecting, engineering, building and helping to support forward looking secure Infrastructure to meet the business needs of the Minnesota State Enterprise System in 24x7x365 setting.

A Bachelor's degree in information technology systems or related field such as engineering
Six (6) years of experience architecting and engineering Enterprise Infrastructure to support complex, maintainable, resilient and secure business and mission critical solutions
Three (3) years of experience developing Architectural roadmaps and Architectural visions for broad set of infrastructure capabilities using technologies from the major industry vendors such as Oracle (incl. databases), HP, Microsoft (including databases), IBM, Cisco, VMWare etc.
Three (3) years of experience with Azure technologies
Three (3) years of experience managing various storage and virtualized compute platforms supporting Microsoft and Linux servers
Demonstrated "Security First" mentality in Architecture, engineering and operations
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of networking and network security
Aptitude to create, maintain and organize documentation to support architectural standards and principles.
Demonstrated strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)

Master Degree in information technology
Three (3) years of experience as Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is preferred strongly
Demonstrated sample portfolio of work as Enterprise Infrastructure Architect
Industry recognized certifications in relevant technologies. MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or commitment to obtain it within 18 months of hire is preferred strongly
Strong project management skills
