We Offer The VP, Critical Engineering & Sustainability Technical Business Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring close coordination between Group Business Support Services (GBSS) and Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for areas where there are intersecting responsibilities, i.e., operations and projects that impact both the physical infrastructure and information technology infrastructure, with particular emphasis on the Enterprise Data Centers. CTO and GBSS interact daily - monitoring data, analyzing reports, making operational and strategic decisions, planning - to provide secure and reliable environments that host technology assets in an efficient manner.
The coordination activities include ensuring that all GBSS / CTO strategies for services that require joint delivery take a broad approach to infrastructure to meet current and future customer needs in a way that balances risk management and fiscal responsibility to the Bank. This means aligning the product and vendor strategies based on capacity needs, costs of ownership, market and bank direction. The role will provide oversight and governance of the Co-location data center platform.
For these intersecting responsibility areas, this position is intended to be the first point of contact for senior management engagement between GBSS and CTO including general communications and issues.
Operationally this role needs to ensure that the standard methodologies for GBSS and CTO align, that information is flowing freely between the organizations, and that cross-department issues or roadblocks are accurately raised and rapidly resolved.
This role requires extensive experience in engineering (preferably both physical and IT infrastructure), cross-department management in CTO (Technology Hardware and software) and GBSS (Real-Estate and DC infrastructure Design and Operations) in an international environment, senior level relationships, strategic leadership and data center expertise.
In addition, the role will have responsibility for internal day-to-day management of CES systems and tools, including management of internal SharePoint sites, material and presentation development, and technology roadmap. The role serves as central point of contact for any Internal Audit queries. The candidate will have exception organizational and presentation skills, and be able to articulate the strategic direction of the CES organization.
The position will handle the Data and Analytics role, which will focus on data collection, reporting, and validation, in support departmental metrics and key performance indicators.

1. GBSS/CTO Strategic Alignment
Coordinate and develop DC planning and strategy with regional and local business partners (GBSS, CTO and others as needed - e.g., BCM on Data Center) on GBSS/CTO intersecting areas of infrastructure responsibility including
Hosting (which includes Data Centers)
End User Services
REWS, GFM-FI, Finance (budgeting and forecasting)
Provide Interface and point of coordination with Risk (Both Ops Risk and IT Risk) on a regular basis and coordinating the technology risk items; Internal Audit response where relevant for data centers
Drive direction, prioritization and influence in all GBSS/CTO intersecting areas of infrastructure
Ensure standards and guidelines conform with the agreed strategy and align across GBSS and CTO
Ensure the appropriate forums are in place to coordinate across GBSS and CTO
Facilitate the interactions across GBSS and CTO in terms of information exchange and cross-area issues and risk management
Coordinate senior partners (N-3s) in both GBSS and CTO with respect to cross-area interactions
2. Data Center Operations Governance
Coordinate capacity and provisioning strategy for the data center facility physical infrastructure (cooling, power, floor space)
Understand budget, allocations and costs related to physical infrastructure and coordinate actions for both CTO and GBSS (which includes data center occupancy)
Manage Global Data Center Capacity Reporting, Real Estate Reporting and Cost Reporting
Chair GBSS/CTO Engagement Meetings
Provide Data Center Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Services as needed
Data Center Leasing and Property Strategy
Data Center Critical Performance Indicators/KRIs
3. Engineering Tools Management
Manage Branch Circuit Monitoring System
DC operational Tool management and strategy.
Web Strategy (Sharepoint etc) to the Engineering Tools
4. General CES Management / Technical Business Management
Participate/provide strong contribution with the Innovation process
Support CES business management strategy
Support CES capital budgets and general financial management
Manage CES talent in the CTO Engagement team from a human capital and performance perspective
Presentation development, SharePoint development and optimization
10+ years' experience in DC areas (Engineering and/or IT industry)
Minimum of BSME, BSEE or BS CS Systems required
Ability to think strategically within a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at senior levels within the organization
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff and difficult situations
Experience in working in a global, multinational organization
Ability to work in a matrix-structured organization
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in business cases and infrastructure chargeback and accounting practices
Ability to communicate technical engineering, regulatory or technology related concepts related to MEPF and Network infrastructure to laypeople
Excellent negotiation skills and problem solving abilities
Have solid knowledge of applicable regional codes and industry standards
Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in associated building services
Exceptional Presentation skills and software relative to report writing and presentations (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Deep understanding of contract and vendor agreements across multiple countries is a plus!
Ability to interact with engineers, vendors, trades, accountants and multiple levels of management in the execution of responsibilities
Ability to continually evaluate, assess and improve infrastructure and processes to provide the highest level of service
Flexibility and ability to respond in a fast paced environment
Knowledge of materials, methods and resources involved in the operation, maintenance, design, construction or repair of mission critical Information Technology Infrastructure systems in data center facilities
Proficiency in English is a plus!
