Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of university-wide network and systems engineering, management, practices, standards, and incident management functions. This position directs the highly skilled and experienced networking and systems engineering staff. The IS Director will work closely with the Associate VP and CIO to develop and implement long-term strategic plans. Additionally, this position is responsible for consulting and support to campus and regional IT staff with networking and systems projects related to data, voice, video, networks, data-center, server, storage, cloud and related enterprise applications. Emphasis is on ensuring stability, reliability, resiliency, security, optimal performance, minimal downtime, and continually improving the overall efficiency of critical network and systems and associated security infrastructure, while growing the infrastructure to provide increased services to all statewide constituents.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in computer science, telecommunications or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in computer facilities operations which has included at least two (2) years of management experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience exclusive of the management experience.
