XEC, Inc. is seeking experienced Project Superintendents to join our team. The continued satisfaction of our clients is a top priority. Our Superintendents are empowered to run the field operations of our projects. They provide on-site supervision and coordination for all phases of construction, including coordinating subcontractors, scheduling of material & equipment suppliers, ensuring design documents & client standards are being strictly followed and that work is proceeding on or ahead of schedule. Our Superintendents are responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control and job site safety. You will work as a team with project management to deliver our high quality product to our clients as promised. Our Superintendents are a major reason why we live on repeat work from our clients.
We work on facilities in high data traffic areas, so our projects are located in cities throughout the United States. Some locations where we have completed projects include: Kansas City, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Colorado Springs, Boston, Tulsa and Seattle in the past few years. Therefore, our Superintendents do travel. We provide lodging, per diem and transportation for our Superintendents home every other weekend when they are on the road.
Understand the contract drawings, specifications, shop drawings and client network standards.
To fully understand the design and client requirements for the construction process.
Schedule subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of the projects.
Perform quality control duties.
Communicate with project team regarding construction documents.
Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scopes of work.
Coordinate required inspections with local authorities having jurisdiction.
Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health and environmental quality standards.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
Provide a 3-week look ahead schedule detailing the events and milestones that will be occurring during that time period.
Maintain electronic daily logs of all activities on the jobsite.
Preside over weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
Manages Company programs such as Safety.
Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Understands policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years experience as a construction superintendent. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required as a minimum. Additional construction-related course from a vocational or technical program is a plus. Proficiency in reading and understanding plans, specifications, drawings and project schedules is required. Ideal candidate will also have intermediate knowledge of project management and scheduling software. OSHA-10, OSHA-30 and First-Aid/CPR certifications are preferred. OSHA-10 is required within 30 days of employment. Valid driver’s license and successfully passing drug testing is mandatory.
