Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. The MSA IT/OPS division has been offering client-focused data management, technology and analytic solutions to the Consumer Package Goods industry since the early 1980s. We are seeking a Product Engineering Consultant to join the IT/OPS Product Engineering Team. The Product Engineering Team is responsible for our reporting tools, data-centered deliverables, training, testing and documentation, as well as responding to user questions and problems related to the tools and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. The primary focus of the Product Engineering Consultant will be to work with business teams to understand and document their reporting and analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs needed to support the company's ongoing growth, automating manual or sub-optimal business processes and analyses, create reports and dashboards, assist with ad hoc reporting needs and work with team members on longer-term research and analyses. The Business Intelligence Analyst will be an individual who has a passion for technology and data and is looking to apply this to further their experience in real-world business scenarios.
Comprehend the client data model/data structure requirements and how they relate to delivery requirements; coordinate with internal business groups to manage the implementation of new functionality and new products or services; monitor launch readiness and act as liaison with other groups within the division; coordinate and manage new product introduction schedules and activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Design and implement new deliverables, including standard reports and moderately complex ad-hoc reports; explain deliverables and respond to moderately complex client questions; coordinate with other internal groups to generate reports and performs quality checks before delivery; build credibility with the client by delivering consistently and meeting expectations.
Develop and execute User Acceptance Test plans to validate application and product upgrades; beta test application and product upgrades, and serve as a proxy for User Acceptance Testing; communicate and document test results; record bugs and fixes as needed; document enhancements for measures and product features with supervision.
Provide input to the design of client training and documentation; deliver application and product training to mid-level client contacts and internal team members.
Map client needs to company product and service offerings; in coordination with internal client group, communicate value proposition of products and solutions at the point of direct user engagement; deliver demonstrations of applications and products to clients and prospects.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex client application and product issues.
Embrace the role of Solutions Management and Product Management road maps in supporting internal client group and servicing clients; work collaboratively with other groups within the division.
Identify and translate client requests for new features or functionality; develop business requirements to communicate client needs to the product manager; communicate parameters for application features; identify solutions for data attributes, supplying operations request for data enhancements.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent experience. MBA or relevant master's degree may substitute for up to two years of related experience.
Minimum three years of related experience implementing technology, business process platforms and data
