The Security Incident Response Team ("SIR") at Two Sigma operates an internal investigations program aimed at understanding and resolving a variety of technical and human issues. The Physical Security Specialist role will lead the emergency and security preparedness function, ensuring industry standard or greater security measures are in place and an appropriate documentation process. This position will also support reporting of case activity, coordination across the other SIR functions, liaison with Facilities, HR and Legal, and assist in managing other operational risk.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
Supervise security and emergency preparedness functions for facilities in multiple metropolitan areas in the US and abroad as well as corresponding data centers, some of which require 24/7 security and access control.
Advise on the specification, design, placement, and configuration of all technical security and fire and life safety systems, including the electronic access systems, cameras, fire detection and other security system components to ensure the security of all facilities, occupants and restriction of entrance of unauthorized personnel.
Advise on mail receipt, inspection, opening and internal delivery protocol as well as other suspicious packages and items.
Provide executive protection and logistics support, in the context of the workplace, both for day-to-day in office functions and executive travel (domestically and abroad).
Conduct security and threat assessment audits of all properties and make recommendations for improvement to security measures on-site.
Consult with and advise the Facilities team on Security aspects of new construction and other projects/initiatives.
Develop pre-trip security briefings and counsel business travelers on safety and security tips prior to their departure.
Design comprehensive risk mitigation plans to ensure that business travelers achieve their objectives in a safe and secure manner.
Leverage strategic relationships, open source information, social media, and other data sources to deliver timely, high-value counsel to leadership on issues on potential current events, weather, disasters, and travel.
Oversee, deploy, vet, and monitor site security guard force to ensure building security and the protection of all employees.
Conduct investigations on physical security matters.
Responsible for the curation of Two Sigma's Physical Security Policy
Assist with the day to day system administration of physical security systems, including the Access Control System, Video Surveillance System, and Security Communications Systems. Specific tasks may include system monitoring, programming, reporting, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair. This may also include assisting in the development and implementation of long and short-term plans, budgets, procurement actions, designs and projects schedules for these systems.
You should possess the following qualifications:
10+ years physical security coordination/management experience from a government agency, law enforcement, or military, plus a minimum of 3 years physical security management experience from within the corporate sector.
A minimum of 2 years professional experience assessing, specifying, and implementing physical security measures and features. Experience in urban and/or international settings would also be a plus.
Undergraduate degree required.
ASIS CPP (Certified Protection Professional), Executive Protection, and/or PSP (Physical Security Professional) certifications preferred but not required.
Strong communication skills, keen attention to detail, readiness to challenge assumptions
Financial industry experience is NOT a requirement.
