The Network Engineer II â UC assists with design,plans for implementation of UC solutions, optimizes processes to improveoperational efficiencies, establishes and documents standards for theUC/Telecom Infrastructure within the Data Centers, Hospital campus, Clinic andAdministrative locations. Provides necessary technical expertise, guidance andtraining of Jr. Engineering staff, for the successful implementation andsupport of the UC/Telecom Core Infrastructure and End user strategies thatallows for an efficient standards-based support model to meet the needs of thebusiness. The Network Engineer II â UC will also have the followingresponsibilities, including but not limited to:
Platformspecific design and engineering of Cisco UC, Nortel and/or Avaya. VoIPexperience on another platform will be considered.
Platformexperience with Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco Voice Portal, CiscoContact Center Enterprise, Cisco Contact Center Express, Cisco Finesse, CiscoJabber, Cisco VCS/VCE, Nortel CS1K, CS2100, Avaya Communications Manager
Designs,engineers and manages complex system related communications routing protocolsto support Faxing, Corporate Plans Dial Plan (E164), Call Control principles,Complex Call Routing, Inter-system Dialing, Carrier SIP, Inter-system SIPintegration
Designs,engineers and manages Contact Center Call Scripts, IVR prompts and Menu ServiceMessaging to support all Contact Center and Self-Service operations
Evaluates,tests, recommends and implements specific UC network solutions
Investigatesand resolves problems, inefficiencies and enhances UC network performance.
Providesstrategic planning and technical support to determine UC business needs withinthe organization
Plans,manages and provides leadership on project teams, including identification ofthe project scope, objectives and managing the process for timely projectcompletion.
Creates andmaintains all UC network documentation reflecting UC topology diagrams, systemand operational standards and utilization of metrics necessary to troubleshoot and maintain ahigh-level of system performance as well as perform growth and planning needsto ensure system availability
Researchesnew technologies to improve efficiencies, conducts business case studies tojustify need for technology while providing ongoing information to management,peers and customers regarding enhancements and innovations
Managesand supports complex UC problems with vendors and Jr. Engineers
The idealNetwork Engineer II â UC will have a bachelorâs degree or 4 years of relevantexperience in UC engineering. The ideal Network Engineer II â UC will be highlyanalytical and possess strong technical aptitude andtroubleshooting/problem-solving skills. The ideal Network Engineer II â UC willhave exceptional communication skills combined with the ability to effectivelyinteract and communicate with diverse group of professionals. The ideal NetworkEngineer II â UC will also have the following skills and experience:
Advancedskills in MS Office
Basicskills in routing and switching and IP peer networking
Advancedskills in dial plan management and communications routing protocols
Intermediateskills in Contact Center Call Flows and Scripting as well as Reporting
Intermediateskills in packet capture and capture interpretation
CCNAVoice certification preferred
