A tenure track Assistant Professor positon in ultrahigh field MRI is available at the Center of Image Acquisition, Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute of USCÂ hGp://www.ini.usc.edu). The primary duties of this position will be dedicated to RF coil design and instrumentation on an ultrahigh field whole-body human MR system (Siemens 7T Terra) as well as RF pulse design and implementation for the 8-channel parallel RF transmit (pTx) system. Working with existing MR physics group, this position will also be involved in developing advanced MR pulse sequences and reconstruction algorithms, as well as clinical applications in cerebrovascular diseases, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimerâs disease (AD).
The newly formed Center of Image Acquisition (hGp://cia.ini.usc.edu) at the Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute at USC houses state-of-the-art Siemens 3T Prisma and 7T Terra MR scanners for human brain imaging. The 7T Terra system is slated to become the first FDA approved ultrahigh field MR system in the US. The Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI) image data archive (IDA) is one of the largest brain image collections that hosts various imaging repositories such as ADNI. The data center of LONI boasts 4,096 cores and 38 terabytes of aggregate memory space for Big Data brain image analysis and cloud computing for image reconstruction.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 years postdoctoral training. S/he should have a strong track record of peer reviewed publications and demonstrated capability for obtaining independent research funding. Excellent teaching and communication skills are also required for this position.
