This management position is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure on a campus with 4,500 students, 700 full-time employees, and a total network device count of approximately 10,000. This position reports to the Director of Information Security & IT Infrastructure and leads a team of 4 network, systems, and voice administrators. The Associate Director will be primarily responsible for the resiliency, security, design, and high availability of the campus IP network, data center, and critical on-premise and cloud applications including the college email, file storage, authentication, and voice environments.
Manage the performance and professional development of the IT Infrastructure team Ensure high availability, back up, and continuity of all Emerson IT infrastructure Act as the primary architect and engineer for the multi-campus IP network, including Emerson's fiber infrastructure, peering relationships, firewall/VPN, routing, WLAN/LAN, DNS/DHCP, voice, monitoring, and disaster recovery environments Act as the primary point of contact for planning new campus initiatives that require IP network planning and implementations Lead initiatives and necessary upgrades, maintenance, and migrations for Emerson's entire server environment, as well as IT Infrastructure-owned applications such as G Suite for Education, Duo/SSO, Active Directory, and the Account Management system Deploy, maintain, and enforce administrative and technical controls for security initiatives led by the Information Security Officer, such as patch and change management policies Work closely with the User Services, Project Management, and Enterprise Applications teams to ensure strong communication and system interoperability Manage internal and external communication, in collaboration with the Communications Team, regarding system outages, upgrades, and new announcements/initiatives
