IT Infrastructure and Operations provides machine facilities management services for the ITS data centers, around-the-clock operational support for all ITS business computing activities, infrastructure for the operating systems for all non-research ITS servers, application server management for university-wide web-delivered services, and database administration for university-wide information technology functions. The division is comprised of Enterprise Storage Management, Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Operations, Database Administration Services, Middleware Services, and Application Infrastructure.
The Director of Applications Infrastructure will report to the Assistance Vice Chancellor of Infrastructure and Operations and serve as a member of the Infrastructure and Operations’ leadership team. The incumbent will participate in transformation initiatives and will provide strategic and operational direction for the Database Administration Services, Middleware Services, Cybermation and the Application Infrastructure team entirely.
The successful individual should have a diverse background and experience with information technology operations, infrastructure (cloud and on-prem), software dev/ops environment, digital disruption, and other areas.
Education and Experience:
The following experience is required: -Extensive planning and management experience including senior member/project leader for enterprise cross-functional teams -Exposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies, and processing environments -Experience with cloud computing, middleware, and ETL tools -Experience managing a technically and financially complex organization with a large staff of highly trained computer professionals -Experience developing and implementing IT policy The following experience is preferred: -A minimum of six years’ supervisory experience in IT with broad technical knowledge of infrastructure automation. -Knowledge and experience with DevOps, continuous deployment, continuous integration practices and methodologies in a higher education setting. -Knowledge and experience with Agile Practice and SCRUM Methodologies. -Familiarity with Oracle Database Administration.
