Job Summary: Under general supervision of the IT Services Operations and Service Desk Manager, provide first-tier software application technical support for system wide supported applications, reports and backup to the technical Help Desk. The incumbent will provide additional support to Agile Scrum project teams. Implement the Scrum software development methodology used by IT Services for technology projects. Facilitate product owner sessions, coordinate, update, and follow up on project deliverables. Prepare and implement roadmaps and documentation for technology projects. Plan, test, debug, implement, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and document systems, programs and Websites in accordance with client and/or department timelines, standards, and guidelines. Report, research, troubleshoot, and resolve problems and support requests for Windows and Macintosh computer systems, Web browsers, data network and desktop system configuration and administration, Websites and their associated software and hardware.
Physical Demands: -Use a keyboard and computer equipment to enter and retrieve data for extended periods of time. Work with clients for extended periods of time. Talk on the telephone and read LCD screens for extended periods of time. -Reach and work with equipment mounted in computer racks and access equipment that may be located anywhere from the bottom (floor level) to the top of seven-foot high racks. -Work in confined and/or limited areas while performing various software/hardware installations. -Safely maneuver equipment, supplies and work in an area where there may be constant distractions. -Position requires lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: -Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions. -Work in environment with temperature, noise, and airflow parameters required for data center operations. -Work regularly scheduled hours (8am-5pm) to respond to needs of clients throughout the day. -Work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to maintain systems, respond to service disruptions, and emergency outages. -Due to the mission-critical services provided by this department, this position will work alternate or extended hours as needed to meet peak workloads. -Work flexible or extended hours as needed based on workload demands. -Travel to and from client sites on and off campus.

Minimum Qualifications: -Experience to independently research, plan, test, document, and resolve incidents and problems for web-based and client server application services. -Experience troubleshooting complex online systems and working with multiple team members to resolve identified issues. -Experience providing first-tier customer support for supported software, hardware and web applications. -Experience supporting Windows and Mac OS operating systems, wired and wireless networks. -Experience using various software programs (word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendars, project planning, and presentation software) to accomplish assignments. -Experience using issue tracking applications. -Experience establishing goals and identifying priorities when working with multiple product owners with competing demands, in a fast-paced environment. -Experience in customer service practices and application of customer service skills to exercise tact, diplomacy and professionalism to translate client needs and problems into effective solutions. -Experience facilitating and coordinating meetings, including scheduling, set up, take down, working with various department staff and tracking action items. -Demonstrated strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of faculty and staff on a system wide level to both technical and nontechnical audiences. -Writing, editing, and proofreading skills to produce correspondence and other written materials that reflect high standards and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience. -Experience working in an Information Technology environment. -Experience working in a project focused environment, working on projects of various sizes, and delivering objects on time, within budget, and with a high degree of quality. -Skills to determine the effects of program modifications on highly integrated systems. -Skills to absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and nontechnical individuals at all organizational levels and to a wide variety of audiences (including the highest levels of management). -Experience maintaining confidentiality and exercising judgment and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive data.
