We have an immediate need for a Senior Windows Engineer to join the Operations Support Center in one of the following markets: Pittsburgh, Columbus or Cleveland. The successful candidate will have a strong technical acumen and a deep knowledge of Microsoft fundamentals and infrastructure products and services. This position will focus on supporting and administering systems across several data centers in either a shared or dedicated client configuration.
Provide Subject Matter Expert level support for Operating Systems and Supported Applications focusing on the Microsoft Platform (including Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, ADFS, SCOM, SCCM)
Applies analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve system problems of moderate to high complexity.
Acts as a technical expert and provides support to clients, partners, and their team
Follow security procedures to facilitate customer access requests inside the data center
Utilize the trouble ticket system to log all requests and activities including documentation of special requests and customizations considered important for future support
Monitor the operational support systems to proactively identify service impacting events relating to IT, network, and facility conditions
Communicate with clients and internal staff at regular intervals to ensure expectations are set, and that appropriate attention is being paid to client requests
Serve as a top escalation point for complex problems or Client expectation setting for tickets within your technical discipline
Assist with resolution or service impacting incidents that are large-scale or complex in nature
Participate in an on-call rotation specific to your team
The following are required to be successful in this role:
Associates degree in technical discipline or equivalent plus 3-7 years Data Center related experience with Servers and OS Support.
Requires in-depth knowledge of the following areas: Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, ADFS, SCCM, SCOM
Basic familiarity with Microsoft SQL and Microsoft SQL availability groups
Previous demonstrated experience managing patching across an Enterprise, or within a multi-tenant environment, utilizing Microsoft SCCM
Demonstrated networking experience including TCP/IP and basic connection troubleshooting (i.e. ping, traceroute)
Will be required to perform Advanced Troubleshooting of Data Center Solutions consisting of the following:
Microsoft environments hosted on a VMWare virtualization platform
Storage architectures, and/or file systems
The following are preferred to be successful in this role:
Experience or Certifications in one or more of the following: MCSA, MCSE
Experience with the following applications: Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Cloud Spam Filtering
Prior customer support experience
Prior experience in a multi-tenant environment
