-Perform network and system administration duties in support of enterprise-wide server environment. -Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software and all configurations. -Lead the design and implementation of data backups, disaster recovery and support operations. -Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and other network and system problems, making determinations to replace defective components as required. -Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software and hardware. -Conduct design, configuration, installation and testing of infrastructure (computer hardware, networking software and operating system software) across multiple data centers, such as:
Enterprise UNIX (RedHat Linux, IBMAIX) server infrastructure Enterprise VMware VSphere virtualization infrastructure Vrealize Automation Enterprise EMCSAN/NAS storage environment serving all storage needs Enterprise Microsoft server infrastructure Microsoft Exchange/Outlook and OCS messaging / unified communication infrastructure.
-Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement -Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems. -Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware/software requirements related to such changes. -Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements. -Establish best-practices based configurations in support of customer requirements. -As part of a team, respond to requests and incidents from internal clients and resolve their infrastructure needs.
-Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
-Perform system performance analyses and audits.
-Research and recommend potential bottlenecks, and recommend hardware / system /configuration improvements to optimize performance in a cost-effective manner. Based upon performance assessments, make determinations whether adjustments are required to ensure optimal functionality.
-Generate required documentation, reporting and monitoring metrics. Present recommendations to support performance improvement and justifications to manager. - Independently and through a leadership role within the team, automate and monitor operations of infrastructure configurations and system security.
-Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases.
-Research new technologies and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies for suitability to meet business needs.-Provide regular status reports and incident reports to manager.
-Mentor junior members in usage and administration of existing and new infrastructure technologies, as well as on configuring servers and operating systems to most efficiently serve customer needs and optimize performance for the lowest cost.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years systems administration experience. Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
Experience in systems administration experience of VMware and Unix Server based systems
Experience with Powershell and other scripting experience (Perl/shell/C/C++/Python)
Experience in EMCSAN/NAS storage, data backup and recovery infrastructure based on Tivoli TSM, EMCDDXXX de-duplicated tapeless backup, UNIX (Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux) server infrastructure, and VMware VSphere virtualization infrastructure
Experience with VMware Vrealize Automation and VMturbo Operations Manager.
Experience with Virtual Desktops and applications, Cloud computing, enterprise networking and NAS and SAN infrastructures.
