Information Technology Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an IT Administrator IV. The IT Administrator IV provides the highest level of technical expertise for all IT infrastructure that is used to support the IT needs of UT Martin main campus and remote centers. The primary focus spans the entire computing environment for UT Martin. This position will be involved in most IT projects as a high-level administrator and will provide technical leadership for projects. This position will be responsible for understanding the "big picture" of IT at UT Martin and will be able to provide guidance in troubleshooting in any situation. This position is also heavily involved in future strategic planning for new technology for student instruction, university administration, communications, and networking focused toward the mission of the university.
Serve as project lead on most IT infrastructure projects
Provide a demonstrated mastery and in-depth understanding of existing and emerging IT infrastructure environment.
Manage, administer, and maintain IT infrastructure, management software, and resources in a complex IT environment; Procure, coordinate the design, documentation, configuration, troubleshooting, operation, and modification of IT infrastructure hardware and software.
Oversee the change management system for all IT infrastructure. Study all proposed changes and report possible problems and benefits of making the proposed change. Back-out plans are proposed where possible, changes are scheduled and the campus is notified of the schedule
Perform complex analysis and extensive problem resolution for IT infrastructure.
Identify strategic areas of development in IT infrastructure
Pro-actively implement industry best practices
Provide guidance to colleagues and users
Plan and coordinate projects
May serve as project lead on any size project
Provide in-depth industry knowledge
Perform other related duties as required
