The Data Center Manager (Comm and Network Tchl Supv 2) will provide guidance and support to the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of servers, storage and the supporting infrastructure within UC Davis Medical centers data centers. This position also manages on premise & third-party production and non-production data center(s) including the management of two hundred six four (250+) Telecommunications Rooms across UCDHS medical campus. This position will be responsible for the management, implementation, design, support, of electrical infrastructure within the data centers, including rack infrastructure, cabling design, UPS's, RPDU, and Battery backup systems, and environmental controls. This position will work closely with IT Facilities Construction also reporting to IT Facilities Technology Director, to develop renovations and communications for IT closet installations and recommendations including all aspects that involve new or existing telecommunications rooms, data closets, and data centers. The Data Center Manager will partner with UC Health data center leaders to improve and potentially integrate UC data centers in the future. The Data Center Manager will also manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans and architecture within the health system.REQUIRED-7-10 years of data center management experience as manager with direct responsibilities for data center services, data center design, colocation management and vendor relationships, cloud knowledge and management with Azure, AWS in a Hybrid cloud environment. -5-10 years' experience with managing designing, and operationally supporting data center infrastructure technologies such as UPS's, PDU's, Network, Storage, Compute, and Security, fiber optic and copper connectivity methods including Ethernet, and other WAN/LAN topologies. -3-5 years' experience with managing cloud and retail colocation vendors with primary experience with Azure, AWS and understanding operational cloud principles. -Experience with data center operations and management including reading and interpreting, as-builts, blueprints, schematics.-2-3 Years' Experience developing Level 1 NOC/SRE function within an organization. -Demonstrated understanding of the State of California or Federal government techniques for planning and implementing emergency services,-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of faculty, staff, students, and representatives of regulatory agencies and the ability to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in remote locations.-Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, database and spreadsheet management.
