Data Center TechnicianThe Office of Information Technology (OIT) Data Center Infrastructure group provides core data center computing, security, disaster recovery, network-attached storage, and backup services to over 40,000 UCI faculty, staff and students in support of the University mission of research and instruction.Under close supervision of the Data Center manager, incumbent will serve as a member of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Data Center Infrastructure team. Incumbent will be directly involved in the day to day operations, maintenance and monitoring of the OIT Data Centers. Responsible for oversight of data center facilities, daily operations and physical security of the OIT campus Data Centers. Ensure all authorized visitors are appropriately supervised. Perform racking and stacking of server, storage and networking hardware, receipt of deliveries, disposal / recycling of old hardware, inventory control and infrastructure management.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
