HPC and Scalable Storage System AdministratorAs an integral member of the Research Cyberinfrastructure Center (RCIC) team, the incumbent provides Linux-based system administration support for the HPC 'condo' computing and scalable campus storage in support of campus research cyber infrastructure (RCI). Working both independently and under the direction of the RCIC director, the incumbent provides system administration services such as operating system support, software installation, patching, and maintenance, file system support and monitoring, user support, monitoring of user communications, simple hardware support and hardware problem troubleshooting, inter-cluster networking support. Also provides monitoring services for computational, storage, and networking sub-systems of the cluster and storage systems. He/she also provides logistical support of the physical infrastructure including interaction with OIT Data Center staff, vendor relations, RMA support, component labeling and inventory control. The incumbent must be an engaged member the RCIC team and contribute to the overall reproducibility, code quality, documentation, administration, testing, validation, outreach, and response standards developed by the team.
